For those of you that know me very well, you know that traveling is my passion, that I love trying new things and basically, I like moving around from place to place. I consider three of the most amazing places my home, Orange County, the Bay Area and Barcelona. Like many of you, I've found so many cool spots in whatever city I live in. Whether it's the best sushi I've ever had, a new hiking trail, bomb dessert, or awesome places to brunch (which I've got to say has become my favorite activity).

However, when I was traveling, I found it so hard to find a good place to eat in the short amount of time I had visiting...not that any of the restaurants I tried were bad but I wanted to eat at the "OMG this place is so good, I'm going to cry because we don't have it in the U.S" kind of restaurant......(&& cue the magical music) that's where HeyLets kicks in and this is why you would love to have it on your iPhone.

1. HeyLets is based on POSITIVITY- Yay! Who doesn't love that? This means that the posts on HeyLets only offer recommendations on the places you should go to, so you don't have to filter through all the negative reviews that can most of the time be irrelevant to you based on your demographic profile. The Iphone app gets you right to the good stuff, saving you the time that other review sites don't.

2. Your customized profile filters what you see- When you sign up for HeyLets, you customize your profile based on your interests, from sports, to fine dining, to festivals, to shopping and the list goes on. Once you do that, your news feed will show recommendations that align with your interests. You can also scroll through your other three feeds, which are based on what's nearby, what's trending, and who you are following.

3. It's a social app- HeyLets makes it so easy to interact with others! You can message, comment, and wishlist posts. This can be useful when planning to travel so you have locals to go to for advice!

4. It's short and sweet- The posts are limited to a picture/video and a concise 200 character limit, so you'll get the perfect slice of need to know info.

5. Find love in a foreign country- Not like real human love, well maybe you will but I'm talking about finding love in a place. Locals and tourists can share must do's in the city so you don't have to read through endless internet posts telling you to do the same, mostly touristy things. Don't get me wrong, I love touristy stuff too but I definitely like "living like a local" when I'm abroad...it makes for a great cultural experience!

6. It's FUN- Using HeyLets is so fun because the experiences shared are done in an engaging format! You can make wishlists of places you want to go to and the app will even notify you when you are near one of those spots (that is if you allow for that notification in your settings) in case you wanted to drop in!
